Weekend Shenanigans Linky Ma Jig

Monday, September 30, 2013

I have come to the conclusion that weekend re-caps and such will always be a Tuesday thing for me going forward. Try as I might I just can't seem to get this shit done and ready to publish on Sunday night. Cause my weekends are so choc full of football, cheer leading, chauffeuring and piles of laundry glamorous and exciting shenanigans that by Sunday night  I fall into bed, blissfully ecstatic and pass out from sheer exhaustion... well sort of.  And let me tell you this weekend was no different. I am ready to put my head down on my desk right now and take a nappy. The morning just blew by and now which is typical for Monday... it's dragging. Just a quick little pic collage of my off da hook hi jinks this past weekend for your viewing pleasure...and I have come to the conclusion that I have to work harder on getting better pics of said activities. Perhaps I should consider putting down the wine glass from time to time... ummm yeah... seems unlikely. Need more face time less foodie love,  But here ya go....

Friday night the kiddoes and I just hung out at home and it was pretty low key. Football on Saturday morning comes early and no matter how you slice it we are always in a rush to get uniforms on, breakfast, hair did, bags/coolers packed. I wish just once my kids Dad would know what it's like to do everything I do. To be a Mom pretty much 24/7 and do err little thing for ur little chickens can wear you slap out!!! But good news... we made it and got it all done. Had some good fiends over for football and wine on Sat. afternoon to watch FSU kick the beans outta Boston College. We  decided it would be a good day to re-introduce ourselves to our old friend Red Wine. She only comes around in the cooler months and now I remember why. She will bite you in the ass if you are not looking out... or laying down a good base before she comes a callin. We had a blast catching up though. I had one of my besties over,  Bethany and her good friend Kelsey (who recently died of a heart attack and was brought back to life... NO SHIT... quite a story), my two daughters, Bethany's 2 daughters, my other bestie Heather and her daughter... and Mr. Winston, the only boy in the joint... the dog. My son, Crazy Wise Boy was extremely wise and hightailed it outta there with his Dad.  Soo we drank and ate, I cooked and we watched football, trash talked our ex's a little and speculated on up and coming boy toys. We also made para cord bracelets, or Heather did. It was a total chick evening and here are the pictures to prove it. Oh and a few from Sunday my tennis/hangover recovery day. I drank a gallon of Gatorade and lost a 3 set tennis match... epic. I came home to find the dog escaped from the crate... again... ate my silver flip flops (last time it was the gold ones), shit in the dining room and chewed up my personal remote control from my bedroom TV. I think I need a dog whisperer!!!

Til Tuesday!!!

Fan Friday Link Up - With Say-rahhhh & Miss Whitilicious

Friday, September 27, 2013

Well Hell... it's Friday so here we are again... thank Bobby Bowden I made it through another week cause me and Friday... we go together like cocaine and waffles, you know what I mean? So here's what...

My weekend will be once again all about the love-fest that is Coach Jimbo Fisher and QB Jameis Winston. I just can't get enough of these two. They're just so stinkin cute I wanna eat em' up. Good luck this weekend my luvvies. Kick some Beantown College ass!!!!

You know what else goes good with yours truly? Anything with pumpkin in it, around it, made out of it, in the shape of it. Which is why I will be making my way to Trader Joes this weekend as I hear they have a truly ridic selection of all things pumpkin. Well slap me silly and call me Susan. I did not know this. I'm getting this shiz fo sho....
P.S.  - What's a Macaron? Will report back.

Every weekend here lately I drop to my knees ( hey now just stop it) and pray to Anna Wintour the Lord to bring me something amaaz in camouflage because, like pumpkin, I cannot get enough into my life. I also pray for million dollar bills so I can buy these.... cause me having them is about as likely as me having a million dollar bill. Sigh.... hello lover.... But good news I hear Sketcher's makes a knock off for around $34 small that is totally doable.

And last but certainly not least, after just the Thurs. night games I am already 34 pts up in my Fantasy Football league. Now thas what I'm talkin about. Luv you Mr. Gore and Mr. Boldin ( and oh yeah... he's a Nole in case ya hadn't heard)

And it wouldn't be my fave day of the week without  #backthatazzup Friday!

Winner Winner Chicken Dinner - Full Fat Recipe Non-Makeover

Thursday, September 26, 2013
This is kind of a staple in my house all though I don't make it too often. The kids like it, it's comfort food and it doesn't require much thought. It is not super healthy but there are worse things you be eating like this...
I really wish the people at Pringles
would get out of my head already... I love plain Pringles like I would stock my emergency shelter with them in the event of a walking dead style Zombie Apocolypse, and then they have to go and create flavors like this which I want to name my non-existent future children after... Frank (Red Hot), Dill (Pickle) and CB (Chez Burger). Walking Dead writers these could be some great new character names for ya, and tasty too. Helllooooo!!!!

What's In My Bag???

Tuesday, September 24, 2013
First of all, when I read this blog post written by Sarah at Venus Trapped In Mars I couldn't wait to see what kinds of cool things she carried around in her bag. Cause if you think about it looking into the sacred receptacle of any super cool chick is a bit like peering into her brain. You see a lot about her, how her mind works, what she cares about and what she doesn't give a flying unicorn circus about. You can tell what's going on in her life and how well she is handling life in general (cough, cough, cough... xanax). Is she messy or neat? Girly or tom-boy? Seriously, this is clearly why no one is allowed to lay a finger on a woman's purse/pocketbook/whathaveyou, especially a man... it would give away all of our secrets!!

But then it hit me... wait... did she say "bag" singular??? This is when I started to panic a little... cause I have this tee-ninetsey little problem.. with bags, plural. I never carry just ever. I can't, I've tried... I need bags... multiple bags... as often as possible. This sounds a little dirty... oh the shame!!!

And my bags have bags in them....Please don't look at me right now...

"My name is Amy and I am a Bag Lady" there I said it.  And I don't mean like this...

Or even like this... although this would have come in handy last weekend in Monsoonville Tallahassee.

Kinda sorta something like this... only this is Gisele Bundchen and I am in NO WAY implying that anything about me says multiple designer bag carrying Brazilian super model married to NFL super star legend who has questionable taste in hairstyles... just so we are clear.

But apparently Gisele and I are bag whore soul sisters cause this is what I came to work with today.

Three bags to Gisele's five. I feel like a failure. And they are not designer bags, well not really but they do have names.
From left to right: The Lily Pulitzer Lunch Tote in Dirty Shirley, The Thirty One Metro Retro Tote in Mod Dot and the Scout Uptown Girl Tote in Camo Tow. And they are all pretty full of the things I can't live with out so lets just have a looksee shall we?

Here is the list of what I consider to be just the basic necessities... in a somewhat clockwise fashion:
A full size glass bottle of Pure Grace (my signature scent), my Kate Spade purse make-up bag, a retractable powder brush, a stack of business cards, Visine, Nail Kit, full size Vic Secret Love Spell body spray w/ glitter (cause you can't leave home without body glitter in your bag), Germ-ex,  Coach wallet with check book and register... i don't even write checks anymore, a comb, 3 colored wooden tooth pics..eww, a full size tube of indoor tanning lotion that I accidentally cut out of the pic, two pennies and a dime, one piece of gold confetti, Chick-fil-a Mints, Nars super orgasm lip gloss (it has gold glitter in it), pens, a blue highlighter, the 10 Things We Love About You book my kids gave me for Mother's Day, Nicorette mints, insect repellent towelette, Forever stamps, a flash drive, 2 electronic cigarette cartridges, Listerine strips, my old lady pill box with pill cutter inside, Sephora compact mirror, Motrin, another bag with some xanax in it for emergency anxiety attacks, a wine bottle stopper... cause you never know when you might need to crack one open and just take one swig, a Burger Fi menu, random Publix receipts and a shopping list with one item crossed off... roast chicken... hmmm I am guessing wine was on the menu that night. And last but not least the contents of the other 2 bags: clean eating books, umbrella, hair ties, those post it stickers that say "sign here" for important documents ( no idea why), an accordion folder full of bills and my empty lunch tote.

Now you might say this is totally nutty and I have some hoarding tendencies but my theory is that in the event of a zombie Apocalypse or if the power ever permanently goes out like in Revolution you are all going to be wishing you were with me because we I can live out of this bag and that's a fact Jack. I got your number Giselle.

Perfection In the Pouring Rain - Thank Bobby Bowden!!!

Sorry this picture sucks so bad but as you can see I did not take it. As it turns out, like this picture, most things about my weekend in Tally were out of my control. Which is awfully tough for this Virgo girl to handle but she is learning and weekends like this learn me good! I was so tired all day today from a super fun weekend I had to take a personal day just to catch up on sleep. And laundry. Cause I had to wash 25 beach towels today. Because your ice maker only breaks and floods your kitchen when you are out of town or in my case just returned from out of town and half shit canned on your couch watching football and dozing off from shear exhaustion at 11:30 p.m.. So my weekend re-cap got hijacked by life yesterday but that's what Tuesdays are for anyway.
As we all knew they would the Noles kicked some Bethune Cookman College ass this weekend to the tune of 54-6. Yayawwww!!! We had a great time at the game after we walked at least a mile in the pouring rain in our $5 garnet and gold hooded trash bags. Thank Bobby Bowden I listened to the guy at Garnet and Gold and added those onto to my $200 purchase of absolutely necessary souvenirs. Can you say "money well spent"??? Really... my daughter made me...yes made me... give up this for $20 and buy 4 rain ponchos...
Ok so maybe she was right but a shot of Fireball would have been nicer outta this in the future! I need a garnet and gold chevron flask... I just do.

So the weekend started off with a yummy meal shared with my bestie and a pretty awesome attempt at glitter nails while drinking wine on the deck. Shrimp, Catfish & Grits.
And did I mention there was wine...

And again, thank Bobby Bowden that we all had a decent meal on Friday night cause looka heeya... this about sums up the garbage we threw down our Dorito chutes for the rest of the weekend. Hey, when you got kids you travel cheap or you don't travel. Don't judge me, get on my level.
And can I just say... these Cheeseburger Pringles taste exactly like a McDonalds Quarter Pounder w/ Shiz... I am not even kidding. Close your eyes and try one.

All in all it was a pretty fanfricking tastic weekend. We will definitely be making the annual trek to Tally as a family, maybe even more than one a year. I am working my way toward being a season ticket holder as that has always been my grand plan. Hell,  maybe a Golden Chief with a stadium parking pass... it could happen! Ok... probably not for me alone but perhaps with the correct addition of hubcap #2... muahahaha.. watch yourself Mr. Money Bags FSU Alumni... I am coming for you and I want my garnet Jeep Rubicon!!!! I'm getting waaaayyyyy off track here once again. It was so weird to be traipsing around Tallahassee again and visititng all the various places where I made a complete drunken ass of myself. But I loved every stinkin minute of it. Even walking to the game in the rain with my kids, soaked to the bone in squishy shoes and wishing I had an ice cold beer to make me feel better. Even sleeping with the little princess grinding her teeth in my ear all night. Even going to my old aprtment and my dorm and getting a little teary thinking how I would give ANY-thing to go back and relive that part of my life. All of it. Just fabulous. And for the record I spent wayyyy toooo much money (wait till ya'll see the cute spirit wear I got !!!!) on  trinkets but fuck it... we only get one time on this spinning third rock from the sun. I'll make more money but this weekend it was all about #MakingMemories.

And that we did.

Goin Back To Tally, Tally, Tally...

Friday, September 20, 2013

This is goin to be a quickie today folks cause this girl has got mega shiz to get done so I can get the heck outta dodge tomorrow and head to The Florida State Mother Effing University for the game with my kiddoes. This will be our first home game in Tally together as a family. Am I or am I not the coolest Mom like ever? We all got new shirts and I am sure we will be spending a ridic amount of dolla dolla bills on souvenirs at my favorite store on the planet... Garnet & Gold. But here's the deal I got a list a mile long but here is my top five that I have to get done before I go....

Purchase enough glitter to cover the bodies of myself and my 3 children  so that we can create the perfect Christmas card photo with The Glitter Guys here...

Pack a suit so I can legit swim in the pool at the La Quinta  in South Tallahassee. The same pool  my girlfriends and I used to break into on  regular basis thinking we could blend right in with the paying guests carrying a ginormous Styrofoam cooler of beer. Good times, good times.

Do my nails in some sort of Garnet & Gold fashion... like this...

Not like this...

Get some supplies for my hotel room cause when you are trapped in a small box with 3 children for the night you need box o' wine or 10.... I like these cause they look artsy and there is nothing like trying to class up the fact that you are drinking wine out of a box.

Try not to straight up piss myself out of sheer excitement over the fact that in 24 hours I will be
hee-ya... walkin on sacred ground!!!

Can ya tell I'm so excited I had to link up twice!!
Later Gaytor Haters!

The Final Outfit - Link Up with Meagan & Erin

Thursday, September 19, 2013
Ok I am seriously getting addicted to the link up thing here. Perhaps because I am inherently lazy and also you ladies come up with the greatest ideas! My brain gets super excited when it realized someone else is doing all the hard work. So when I read about Meagan & Erin's link up to choose the perfect outfit for the rest of your life I knew I was in. And then my brain said  "wait? what?? ONE outfit forever??? Hold the phone sista!" but I am going to force myself to do it.
Like so many of us women Fall is my fave season for obvious reasons too numerous to list but can you say FSU Football, Pumpkin Spice Pringles and Boots? I can and I do, but back to the point. This is pretty much my perfect favorite outfit of all time. A loose super soft sweater, white tank, infinity, scarf, stretchy jeans and boots and one or 2 great accessories. I have it in just about every color combination thank you very much Gap & Old Navy!

But I have to break the rules here just a little because the very first thing that started running through my mind was Carrie Bradshaw and all of the outfits from SATC that I would totally kill to wear for one hot minute let alone forever so I just want to say it's a total toss up for me because I could also just as easily wear this for the rest of my life and I could just die happy... surrounded by acres of chiffon and tulle Versace. Forget about the fact that I couldn't go anywhere in it... I would look amazing sitting on my bed. Sigh.......

Sorry I'm not sorry:)

A Future Letter to My Kiddoes - Link Up with Sarah & Holly

Wednesday, September 18, 2013

After reading Holly's awesome letters to her kids I feel like s super crappy Mommy for just doling out some random advice but I am going to stick with my first inclinations. Sage advice with a bit of sass from your Mommy. Just a few musings on things I have learned the hard way because I always do everything the hard way. I hope you don't take after me in that regard.

Try everything you want to do and don't be afraid to fail, it's what makes you grow. If your gut tells you don't do it, listen. And if it's something you wouldn't want Nana Barbara and Papa Dan to see you doing also don't do it.

It is part of life. You must accept it. When you lose someone embrace and comfort those around you. When someone else loses someone they love put aside your discomfort and be there for them.

Pay them. Jail is not a place that you ever want to go. Until the system changes it sucks but we all have to do it. And always work for cash when you can.

Get thru it. We all have to. Once you do no one can ever take that away from you and it will always set you apart from those who did not. Be kind to your teachers, the good ones will shape your life a little. And don't worry about algebra. I'm 43 and I haven't used it since 10th grade.

Drive one that you like if it matters to you. You spend a lot of time in your car. If it doesn't don't let what anyone else drives phase you. Who cares.

Do what you love when you can, always. But... if people depend on you do what you must to take care of them. Work on what you love on your time. It will come.

It makes life easier, it just does. Try to make some but be mindful of the power it has. And work for cash when you can.

Date a lot before you get married, then stop dating.

It's a beautiful thing. If you think it is for you give it your all but don't settle for less than what you deserve in it. It is the ultimate example of a two way street.

It's an amazing thing. Have lots of it.  Relax about it and Enjoy it with those you love. Or like a whole lot. Cause that's ok too. Safety first!!!

Stick to the legal stuff and possibly things created in nature might also be ok.... but I'm not sure... exactly.

Rock & Roll

Yes.  Lots of it or whatever kind of music you like. See it live and dance in the aisles.

I hope you 3 have amazing lives. Most of all find the things that make you happy and f something is not making you happy in your life you MUST change it. Life is too short. You know your Dad and I will always be there for you no matter what. If you can't get us call Uncle Dan, he is the smartest person I know and has bailed my ass out of trouble on countless occasions. Good luck Lovies!

It's A BOY!!!!!

Tuesday, September 17, 2013

Nope... I did not have a baby!!! But we did adopt a family dog over the weekend and I kind of feel like there is a new baby in the house. We all want to know what he is doing, where he is, if he is ok, like 24/7. I am exhausted but so far so good! My kiddoes have been begging for a furry friend for months if not years and I have not had a dog since I lived with my parents. I have put it off and put it off as long as I could. I was thinking this would be their big Christmas gift this year but I guess Christmas comes a little early from time to time!

So as we were out and about this weekend we came across 2 local humane society shelters with dogs for adoption in a tent at our local PetSmart. We stopped... first mistake. I had 4 girls in tow... 2 were mine and they each had a friend... second mistake... I was seriously outnumbered. I don't really know what came over me but I started looking at the dogs and melting... third mistake... never show the enemy your weakness.

As a lot of divorced parents do I have guilt. Guilt that I couldn't keep my home intact for my children. Guilt that I wanted a different kind of life for me and that kind of messed theirs up. Guilt that there Dad is such a mess and sometimes I feel like they wonder if it is my fault or worse yet, theirs. Guilt that our lives are turning out so different than the way we thought they would be, all of us together forever, one big happy family. So you might be thinking that my decision to get a dog is to alleviate my guilt for all of these things that are  not so picture perfect. But that's not it. My thinking behind some of the decisions I have made lately is that in spite of all of these things, we are still a happy family. We may not all reside in the same house anymore but we... my kids and I do and we are a happy family. And families have dogs. I had one growing up and I want my kids to have that experience too. I am scared that I can't handle another mouth, more responsibility... but so what??? I just will that's all. And if not now when? So it's done. We have a dog. We are a dog family.

After we saw a dog that we really liked on Saturday,  I we went home to agonize over think about it some more. When we went back later that afternoon she was adopted and the kids were I was devastated. I felt horrible so I promised we would go back on Sunday and look at the next group of dogs coming in and there we found our forever friend. He is sweet and loving, full of energy yet able to chill out and be cool. He will lick your face off and then fall asleep with his head in your lap while you rub his ears. We have had him for 3 days and he has yet to bark at anything. He's still learning where to go potty but we will be patient with him. I don't know why now or why this dog but something in me just knew this was the time and this was our pet.

So errrbody meet Winston!!!!

He's a Plott Hound, Lab/Retriever mix and he does actually do more than sleep  and watch ESPN in my spot on the couch. But... If he starts watching Bravo he and I's gonna have problems!

Five On Friday - Southern Accessories Edition

Friday, September 13, 2013

Well, the weekend is upon us again and with it comes my favorite day of the week...FRIDAY!!!
I love Friday for so many reasons but one of the biggies is it's casual day at work. Which, if you knew my office you would be laughing right now. It's pretty casual overall but I guess I give myself permission to really go ultra casual on Friday. Now I don't go all crazy like the one chick in my office who wears ratty jeans and T's, no make up and hair not did. I could never go out in public like that!!! But then again I could never bang other peoples... wait a minute... that's another story.

So time for some casual down right Southern Accessories today to go along with my skinny jeans, silver flip flops cause it's till 87 degrees here today, and black T. So here's my five:

1. Anything College Football Related - Trust me on this one. If it's fall in the south and you are sporting anything with your favorite team on it it's fashion and you are accessorized!!

2. Your Monogram - Whether it's on your purse, your tote, your stadium blanket, your car, your pocket square, your finger, your neck or your ears...  the triple monogram is the epitome of Southern style and all women of the south likely have many in their wardrobe.

3. Camouflage - I know you may not get it if your not from these parts but Camo can be very chic and a pop of it here or there is a nod to our redneck brother's and sisters taken to the next level. I am not ashamed to say I have a crap ton of camo accessories and I plan on acquiring more.

4. The 24 oz. Tervis Tumbler - Yes folks it is a cup but it is also mos definitely an accessory here in the South. Here we have a tervis for every sports team, leisure activity, vacation destination, you name it there is a tervis for it and usually filled with your beverage of choice. Here is the new one I got for my birthday with a neon pink Atlanta Falcons logo.

5. And last but not least... bling. Here's a funky ring I found at an art show and BONUS ... it just happens to be garnet and gold, the team colors of my Seminoles so I shall be sporting it proudly all season.

See how everything begins and ends with Football?

And wouldn't be Friday without #backthatazz up with Whitney.

And cause I feel like this weekend is going to be #winnerwinnercatfishdinner...
