when everything you touch turns to shit
Mike's wrecked his third car in a year and lost his job and his girl. He's got the brown touch.
I am pretty sure I have this.

Anyway....

Wow... I completely missed Monday here. Haven't done that in awhile but.... It just got away from me and before I knew it it was 3:00 and work and school took a big dump all over my life. No I did not go back to school.... but I have a little guy in my life who is not a fan of the institution. Yesterday I got the dreaded barrage of emails from teachers wanting to set up the "group conference"  when your kid is struggling. I go thru this every year with him since about the 3rd grade. And every year it gives me agida... that's Soprano for heartburn and mental aggravation.

This year he is clearly stressed about the stuff going on between his Dad and I. When your kids are older it's so hard to hide it, they just pick up on everything. I thought I had been sufficiently dark last month to get the ex to calm down but SURPRISE.... no, as usual he was quite asstastic last weekend leading to tears (the boy child) and excessive wine drinking (the Mom child). But we got thru and I am back to being dark, clearly trying to talk to irrational folk is a big mistake. So I went ahead and set up my parent teacher conferences without the ex. I never thought we would be physically unable to be in the same room together but here we are. And yes it sucks but like I told my son, some people have no legs... that's a real problem. We will be fine, our problems are regular every day problems and we have each other to lean on. So....

On a lighter note I spent very little money this weekend and the wallet watch is off to a rousing start. If you want to see my plan lookey here. I might have had one tiny little slip in that I might have purchased some additional wine when I said I wouldn't but hey... stress is a muther fucker. Honestly I was so irritated by Saturday afternoon that while I was shopping I completely spaced my alcohol rule. I did get about $30 in groceries by shopping the sales and manager's specials at Kroger that I should be able to get thru the week on. Hellz YEAH!!!!! This is in the crock pot for tonight thanks to $1.99 lb. chicken breast.
This blog has the best recipes... Six Sisters Stuff... go check it out!

I also did some baking straight out of my freezer and pantry and made some of this banana bread and I didn't spend a penny. Ya proud a me or what???? Oh and here's the recipe... ur welcome in advance.

My Banana Bread

2 cups sugar
5 eggs
1 cup nuts
2 pkg. instant toasted coconut pudding
2 cups vegetable oil
3 cups plain flour
1 tsp. salt
2 cups mashed bananas (4-5 bananas)

Put into 3 greased loaf pans. Bake 1 hour 15 minutes at 325 degrees. Stays very moist. Freezes well. Makes 5 dozen mini muffins.

Here are my tips and tweaks as I have been making this for years. You can cut down on the sugar some. If you can't find coconut pudding you can use any kind of vanilla or even butterscotch. The coconut doesn't make it taste like coconut either so don't worry... weird I know. You can cut back some on the oil too or use apple butter for some part of the oil portion. I usually make 2 giant loaves. They freeze very well and are also da bomb with chocolate chips! Kid tested!

And that's all I got for today!!!

I will be confessing some epic online dating shee-aht tomorrow with this funny sista from anotha mista, Kathy...  so please come back & join in.

  2. WTF re: your ex. RAGE and rage and rage. I am really so sorry. And so sorry it's affecting your son in school. Makes you want to kick a fool in the nads repeatedly.

I love Six Sisters. It's been a long time since I made buffalo chicken in the crockpot. I have everything I need so that might happen this weekend since I'm going to be out overnight on Saturday.

I have a bunch of bananas in the freezer too, and muffins are happening this weekend. My supply of frozen muffins is almost depleted.
