Weekending... A Day Late

Tuesday, May 12, 2015

I took Monday off from this little space frankly because I deemed Mother's Day my ultimate lazy baby hangover day and decided not to do a damn thing, including crank out a Monday blog post. And when I say baby hangover let's just be clear, I drank hard liquor on Saturday and oh my hell... I just can't anymore. Bourbon to be precise, sounded like a great plan at the time, but it turns out that any amount just produces general lethargy the next day in yours truly. I didn't have a headache, wasn't sick, nauseous, spinning or throwing up... just tired and cranky. I really think that once you hit 40 you should just do yourself a favor and stick to respectable  adult bevvies like beer and wine instead of trying to drink like the 21 year old you of yore. Anyway let's get to a little fun re-cappin!

I had a spectacular weekend! An old friend of mine surprised me on Friday and drove over from Charleston where he was on business and took me to dinner. He lives in Chicago so a five hour detour was quite a surprise, much appreciated and we had a great time. After my recent string of crappy blind dates what a treat to spend time with someone and it just be easy and familiar. I love that! We went to one of my local faves, Tara Humata and sucked back some margaritas and yummy tex-mex cuisine. Excuse my lack of pics... I was busy having adult fun but I did manage to stuff my face hole with some Grilled Hanger Steak Chimichuri... to die for.

Saturday pretty much revolved around the main event, the kick off to my summer concert series... The Zac Brown Band extravaganza. I went with about 20 people from my hood, long time friends and neighbors. My daughter and her friend tagged along too for us to embarrass. We started tailgating at 4:30 ish with all kinds of food and drinks literally on the tailgate. It was hot as hell and it definitely felt like summer is officially here in the south... bummer. I effing hate the heat at events like this, impossible to look cute when you are sweating like a whore in church. The concert was off the chain as per his usual. He played 30 songs with one intermission and no opening act. I think I sat down 2 or 3 times! The people behind me hated my guts... losers... who sits at a concert??? Hope you enjoyed my ass all night! Seriously tho, so much fun!!! Ready for Shaky Boots this coming weekend with Blake and Dierks!

Mother's day was low key with steamed dumplings & sushi  at Volcano (please click on this link because I just love their cheesy video) and kiddoes and not much else! I love those kinds of days!

Hope y'all had  great weekend! Happy Tuesday!
