Hey hey it's Tuesday! It was a quiet Easter weekend at my house without the 2 littles. The oldest teen was with me for most of Saturday and we spent our afternoon shopping together, which is rare these days. What a treat. I dropped my car off for some service so she actually shuttled me around for the day. We spent too much money but ... who cares. We'll make more this week. Since as usual I have not much prepared I figured I would just hang with Karli for 10 On Tuesday because lately, random is what I do best.

1. I ate my one Cadbury Creme Egg over the weekend and I felt really good about sticking to that plan. I also ate one Reese's egg, dunkin donuts iced coffee, one chocolate raspberry cake doughnut, some spinach artichoke dip, crackers, goat cheese, shrimp and grits and  wine. Lot's of wine. FAIL

2. I signed up for a season of singles tennis because I am scared to death of it. It's a lot more running and just harder than doubles because you and only you cover the entire court. I have not played singles ever as an adult. I have been feeling like I need to step out of my comfort zone a little right now. Been feeling a little down and anxious which I mentioned here. I think this will help. But I am still scared. What if I am just not up to the challenge? Ugh.

3. I went and ordered these new Ray Ban's I have been coveting for the last 2 months. I sprung for the extra monies on polarized because duh... ummm eyes??? It's about to get hot as ballz and sunny as hell non stop here in GA so totally necessary. They should arrive today and I can't wait!

4. You know what annoys me? Married women who seem to have too many single guy friends, or want to hang out with single guys. It's odd. Back the eff off, nice single guys are not that easy to come by. Go hang with your husband. I swear it's a thing.

5. Last week was my first cornhole match and I was turr-uh-bull. Embarrassing. Let's hope The Amateur Corn Starz fare a little better this week. What could be worse than losing to a team called The Wrong Hole?

6. I spent half of my day off last week at a government office filing paperwork. Surprisingly it went smoothly and everyone was very helpful. I have been putting it off but for all my worrying... again mostly manufactured in my mind, the outcome is going to be a positive one for me and my kids!

7. I have 2 nights this week to stay home and I can not wait. I plan to be in bed tonight at 8:00 with a book or some TV, maybe a kid and a dog. Repeat performance scheduled for Thursday.

8. Work is kicking my ass, hence the lack of blog posts. I literally can't right now. Praying for more balance soon.

9. My mother sent two... that's right two delicious coffee cakes to us for Easter. I love food gifts and sweet breakfasty things are a personal favorite of mine. If you ever need to send a food gift send one of these. They do not disappoint.

10. Next week is spring break in GA and guess where I'll be? Right where I always am... here. How did we get to spring break? Wasn't just Christmas vacation?

Have a great Tuesday people!

HEY...IT'S THE WEEKEND

see what I did there?

Well hell... Yesterday was my Friday because my company is closed today in observance of Good Friday. Boom... I even got off at 3 yesterday. What a treat! I was home before my kiddoes and got to be there when they all walked through the door, I miss that. They like it too. I got some cooking and laundry done last night so I am in pretty good shape for a kid fee weekend of relaxation. Today I have some personal business to take care of that I have been putting off because I didn't want to take a day off. But since I was given a day off I am going to take care of some bidness... wish me luck, if it works out it could be a very good thing for me! #vaguemuch I'll fill you all in later but for now let's get to awesome things that I want, need and can't live without... with Amanda.

SONG

If you don't click on anything else here today click on this. Heard it on Pandora recently and then caught my 10 year old singing it a few days later. Sweet. Meaningful.Touching.

MAKEUP

As you all know I am a nude lip junkie because for big lips, it's a safe look. Last weekend I picked up NYX Matte in Butter and I love it. I pretty much love all the NYX products though, price point and quality is perfect for me!

TENNIS OUTFIT

I am feeling it's time for a new tennis dress now that I have dropped another 20 lbs. and tennis clothes are not supposed to be baggy. Has to be Nike of course. This Spring Premier Maria Dress might be it. Love the mesh and back zipper.

SNAPCHAT

Are you guys on SnapChat? Well if not you should be. Helene wrote a post on the ins and outs here yesterday and I must say... I love it. It's spontaneous and unfiltered for the most part. Add me. Just screenshot this pic and you will have my snapcode... all those little dots on my pic are unique to me so if you choose "add by snap code" and pull up this pic on your phone Snapchat will know you want me. How cool is that? I snap whatever it is that pops into my head. Try it, you will like it!

EASTER THING

I allow myself one Cadbury Creme Egg a year but... omg this. Creme Egg Cheesecake... could you die?!?! Original pin here. Someone please make this and tell me how amazing it is!!!!

HAIR PRODUCT

Ok so if you follow me you already know my hair looks freaking amazing. I have the best hairdresser in Atlanta, Aubrey Burns, but if you don't have her use good products. Alway on a budget, I found this via my teenager... Tresemme Heat Tamer seems to have helped  quite  a bit over the winter when I flat iron the shit out of my hair because, no humidity in Atlanta.

Did you miss me? Well..... I have been soooooo incredibly busy you just wouldn't believe it!!!!! JUST KIDDING. I have been completely fucking off, working and having fun. I guess that's busy but in a good way. I have been feeling life before blogging here lately and no apologies for that so this is going to be a recap, hashtagging, confessing stream of consciousness type of post. I guess I left off Friday and here we are again on Wednesday so let's start with confessions and such with Kathy, Nadine, Laura and Lauren!

Last weekend I experienced live band karaoke for the first time and it was epic. One of my girlfriend's husband's is a drummer at Metalsome... this karaoke thing that happens several times a week at 10 High which is the basement of the Dark Horse Tavern in the Virginia Highlands neighborhood of Atlanta. I do not and did not sing but it was so much fun to watch random people get up and belt out Billy Idol, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi all backed by a full live band! If you come to Atlanta.... Go!!!

I am an uncontrollable worrier at times. Maybe why I can't focus, anxiety... this produces a lot of it. I heard a quote recently that hit home, "worrying is like walking around with an open umbrella waiting for the rain". It's true. I have been struggling with this lately even though you would never know it. I don't talk about it but it's always there. Ugh. But I found this cool gif. #breatheinbreatheout #tryit #itfeelsgood

I have been doing a pretty bad job of meal prepping but amazingly enough the little bit that I am doing is still paying off. It's kinda small (for Feb. and March) but I have officially hit 20 lbs down this year. Woohoo... pants are falling off everywhere. #pantsarebullshit

Can I just say that I finally did my taxes and the news is good.... money coming back! #paysomebills #getsometattoos #takeavacay

I am having major blogger's block lately. I just don't know what to fill this space with right now. I am not being very successful with balancing all of the things that are important to me in real life either so hopefully the blogosphere won't take it too personally. I think it will all work out the way it's supposed to, it always does. Spring is here, maybe it's spring fever. #Ihavenoideawhatimdoing #butimadeitheretoday

Whew... why does it feel like it hasn't been Friday in forever? Last week was so yuck for me I didn't even get to enjoy the dawn of my favorite day because my mind was stuck in dark places. But today I will! I have tennis tonight, live band heavy metal karaoke tomorrow night at The Dark Horse Tavern (watch that unfold on Snapchat), and tennis again on Sunday. Hopefully I can sleep way in on Saturday morning, I actually wrote that in my planner, squeeze in a nap and get some cornhole practice in too. Maybe some Netflix and Prime binging in bed with the dog. And of course much needed time with the kiddoes all weekend long! But first we talk fabulous things that I can't get enough of with Amanda.

SONG

Another Bebe Rexha anthem that speaks to my single girl soul. And a good mini story video.

SHOES

Love these new Kassidy Wedge Sandals from Nine West. I don't love heels for work so much but give me a good wedge all day and I am happy! The combo of black and leopard is on point! Use my code here to get $10 off your next pair!
Kassidy Wedge Sandals

FOOD

So have I mentioned that I am a cheese fanatic? You have all probably tried this one but just in case it is one of my most favorite cheeses on the planet and pretty readily available. You guys.... it's cheese with wine already IN IT!!!!! Bellavitano Merlot is perfect for any occasion. I would describe it for you but here is what the good folks who make it have to say... Get. It. Now. Actually all the flavors are amazing. I love the Espresso flavor as well.

By wedding this rich, creamy cheese to the berry and plum notes of Merlot, we’ve created a marriage of flavors destined to make your taste buds say, “I do.” On that note, if you invite a few friends from our pairing guide — say, toasted walnuts, thin slices of prosciutto and semisweet chocolates for dessert — the honeymoon never has to end.

BAG

Oh fringe... you get me every time.  Love, love this new Isabeau Clutch from Nine West. Must have staple. At $69 I think it's a great basic for the summer.
The Isabeau Clutch

SNACK

I am all about a good protein bar but sometimes I want something savory and not sweet. These from Kind hit the spot! The Thai Sweet Chili and Roasted Jalapeno are my faves so far. Weird? Yes... but soooo good!

READ

So you all know how much I love a good cocktail but let's face facts... empty calories blow. This pin and article from Buzzfeed of course with some recipes for light, refreshing summer cocktails. Yes please! I really just love the title. Get you turnt.

TATTOO

And sadness upon sads ... not only am I still patiently waiting for one amazing artist to open up her books so I can get an appointment, my other favorite artist is coming home for a visit and I didn't jump fast enough to get a spot with him. My timing is the worst but I guess it will be when the time is right. For now I continue to admire all the beautiful blackwork that they do. And wait. And wait.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Hmmm what can I tell you this week? I feel like I have been a little bit failing at life. My to do list remains mostly the same from week to week for about the last month or so. I am checking things off but at the 11th hour instead of getting shit done in advance like a good soldier. What is my problem? I don't know. I feel anxious and that makes me worry about every little thing thus making it hard to focus and get shit done. #Breathe... #Namaste.

I finished my taxes yesterday and good news... getting money back. Well, I always do thanks to my 3 big ass tax deductions. Now what to do with all dat money??? #tattoosandalcohol #vacay #paybills

I ate pizza last week, then I ate it again on Monday. God dammit I am so pissed at myself. Snap decision the first time and it wasn't even good. The second time was just me being dumb and starving and saying fuck it. There goes my plan of a year without pizza. #theroadtohellispavedwithpizza

I have not been eating enough food. Say whaaaat? Skipping meals and being too lazy to cook is not good but it happens when I'm stressed. My hunger wanes and I end up just not eating. I blame the warmer weather and now I can also blame the time change. I need to do better though. I lose more weight eating several thousand calories a day of real Paleo/Whole30 food than nothing at all. #truestory #butyougottoactuallycook

My cornhole league starts next Monday. In a weird way I am kind of nervous because A. It's competitive and I like to win and ... B. Playing with my favorite man friend and even though he has seen me look dumb a million and one times I want to look like I know what the hell I am doing and ace that shit. So I have been googling and you-tubing and studying tips on how to be a rockstar at cornhole. #loser And I may or may not have scheduled an actual practice session in the driveway.     #iamthecoolestchickyouwillevermeet #alsoIamadork

So I have learned that the key to success at cornhole is relax, don't focus on the hole and slide it in. #sweartogod #whatthehelldidisignupfor

So I took my own advice on Saturday and stayed in bed for about half the day, maybe technically a little more. Well, actually I did get up to feed and water the dog, let him out and make some bulletproof coffee but then it was back to bed for both of us. We curled up and caught up on a few episodes of HOC but mostly I binged on Transparent because I am one hundo addicted to and in love with the story of the Pfefferman family. It felt good. Really good. It was an incredibly beautiful day outside too and for the first time in awhile I didn't feel even the slightest twinge of guilt about not getting up or leaving the house/bedroom/bed. My shutters were all closed and my room was nice and dark and cool. I was a starfish surrounded by tons of pillows and one lazy dog who likes downtime as much as I do.  I talked about that here last week and how important it is to schedule some down time and really practice the art of doing not a thing. My house did not get cleaned and laundry did not get done. And I don't currrr....

I did however eventually make it out of bed and out of the house to attend The PBR event in town last saturday night. That's Professional Bull Riding not Pabst Blue Ribbon. We have been talking about going for weeks and I thought it would be good to get out into the world so I did. It was great fun and great people watching. Bull riding is legit out of control danger and adrenaline. And the riders are teeny tiny little dudes who apparently have great big balls because bulls are really, really angry. There is no freaking way you could pay me to do that. It was worth getting out of bed for though.

Now for the best story of the weekend. If you don't follow me on snapchat then you did not hear about my Tinder brunch date this past Sunday. It was a doozy. Yes, I was bored one day recently and made a new Tinder profile. I never really gave that site a chance after all and I have been missing meeting new people. Well, I might just be over meeting new people after one date. My date and I met for brunch at a local Irish pub that is supposed to serve great food. It was meh... I really wanted to take some pics but thankfully I thought better of mentioning my blog. Remember what happened the last time I did that? I actually wrote a post about it that I later edited because the nut job started stalking me and my blog. But I digress... the date was odd at best. There are certain things I don't feel like are great topics for a first date i.e. religion, politics, abortion, you know light stuff like that no one ever feels passionate about. Welp apparently Mr. Tinder-man didn't get that memo. I'm not going to get specific because it doesn't matter but politically we could not have been further apart and that's a deal breaker for me. The annoying part is he assumed we were and made some ridiculous sweeping generalizations that made me want to laugh in his face. Why on earth would you do that on a date? But wait, there's more. I don't like gratuitous cutesy touching. Strike 2 (also within the first 10 minutes) he kept rubbing my feet with his under the table. When I mentioned "those are my feet" thinking maybe he thought they were part of the table or something, I got "I know" and a smile/wink face combo. Even if I was super attracted to a guy... No, just no. Aaaaand I am saving the best for last... he stole the glass that his drink came in, a whiskey snifter to be exact. It seems that he has 3 previously stolen at home and wanted a fourth to complete his set. He thought it was funny and exciting. I imagine my face went something like this when it finally clicked that he was in fact serious.

So yeah... we finished up, he paid and after a quick and light hug in the parking lot (so as not to break the snifter in his jacket pocket) I beat a hasty retreat. It wasn't horrible but honestly, I would have much rather spent Sunday morning lazing in the bed with my dog than where I was. He also proceeded to text me for the next hour trying to convince me to come over and hang out with him at his house. I can't make this stuff up guys.

The worst part was I really wanted to call the  one person who I love having brunch with the most and tell him all about it over a bloody Mary. But... we are in a weird place right now because men are weird. Ugh... the struggle is real my friends. On to the next Tinder disaster!

Weekending Like A Slob

Tuesday, March 15, 2016

Oh Hey! We made it! This week was long and for reasons beyond my control stressful. I went out with a friend last night for a bit and we laughed and laughed for about 3 hours. Remarkably I feel much, much better today but a little tired. I have just 5 things to share with you today that I am digging on, finding useful or enjoying in some way shape or form so... leh go!!!

RECIPE

Malted Guinness Cake with Bailey's Frosting from one of my most favorite food blogs... Host the Toast. I mean, do I really need to say anything here? Just look at it, all festive and Irish-ish. It's cake with alcohol for God's sake. Need.

Malted Guinness Chocolate Cake with Baileys Frosting. This rich, dense, malted chocolate cake combines the flavors of Irish stout and dark chocolate for a perfect St. Patrick's Day dessert. The Baileys Irish Cream frosting is easy to make and takes this cake over the top. | hostthetoast.com

PURA VIDA BRACELETS

I mentioned these on Instagram the other day.  I love this kind of boho jewelry! As far as I am concerned you can never have too many bracelets on your arms. Bonus they are super cheap, hand made and waxed so you can wear them all the time and they won't break like other string bracelets. The 2 guys that started the company have a pretty cool story and are doing great and charitable things. Read about that here. Each bracelet is hand crafted by artisans in Costa Rica, providing jobs for people that really need them! Order some and use code AMYROSE20 at checkout for 20%off!

SKINCARE

Omg... this is my new favorite skincare product Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water. Y'all know how much I love my smokey eyes and liquid eyeliner but that shit is a bitch to get off. This stuff works like a champ. It has a very subtle pleasant scent and is not greasy at all. Not only that, it takes off all your makeup and cleanses/tones your skin at the same time. That's like one product that does a whole bunch of stuff. Yes and yes. Oh and it's about $6.99 all day long. Get it.

PERISCOPE

Dammit. Just what I did not need. Another Social Media app to waste time on. Are you guys onto this yet? I am a teeny tiny bit hooked on Periscope because ... hello... Voyeur. Simply put, Periscope let's you explore the world through the eyes of somebody else. You never know what you are going to get, hear or see. it's very cool. I want to Periscope something but I just don't know what. Word to the wise, DO NOT Periscope while driving drunk. Some girl did that and the people watching called the cops and she got pulled over and arrested. True Story. I want to Periscope something but what??? Maybe a date, did I mention I am back on Tinder? Follow me... same name everywhere!

SHOE

Ok, another one for my lust list. I am OB-sessed with these. The Stuart Weitzman Nudist Sandal in nude of course because I am a nude shoe, lipstick, nail polish junkie. I'm not sure how I am going to get them but I must have them. To me these would work with anything from shorts to a gown. Therefore totally justifiable. Amiright?

Have a fabulous weekend and don't do anything I wouldn't do. And if you do, Periscope it.
