What Motivates Me..... #TrackTheTank

Thursday, August 14, 2014

Hey folks! I have a special treat coming your way today... a super fun giveaway with a point. What motivates you to stay on track with your health and fitness goals? Tia at Hands On, Pants Off & Candra at Camo & Lipstick came up with a great idea for a bunch of us bloggers to share our motivation for staying fit. In addition we are all taking our turns and sharing our stories when we receive this snazzy tank from Ruffles With Love in the mail from the blogger that had it before us. The tank is literally traveling the country see.....

We all take a picture or two of it (cause you know how much us bloggers hate that) and sign it, write a blog post about our personal motivation before we ship it on to the next lady on the list. And maybe, just maybe we might each be putting in a little something in the package for the person who wins the tank giveaway at the end of the journey. So go check out some of these gals as we all share our stories!

Angela @ Mean Ang
Jasmine @ Fleurty and Fit
and
Valerie @ Fab Chick Gets Fit who sent it to me

I'm sending it to: Amy @ Getz Girl on Fire

                                      Then:
Aubrey Leigh @ ALG Uninterrupted
Brandi @ Mama Laughlin
Tracie @ Tracie Everyday
Bailey @ Bailey McKenzie
and finally, Tia @ Hands On, Pants Off

So I guess this is the part where I get to tell you what motivates me. Well first off let me tell you I am so not even close to many of these ladies in the fitness category. I'm not training for a marathon or gearing up for a bikini competition... aaaack the horror. I am just a regular person trying to be healthy-er than I was so I can enjoy my kids and my life for a very long time. I am very imperfect. I skip too many workouts, I drink too much wine and eat too much sea salt caramel gelato. But after the last few years of ups and downs in my weight, health, marital status and life in general, I am much more aware and conscious of the choices I make and how they will affect not only me but the people that I love. Long and short of it is I am trying. I think now.... because I know that every moment matters. If I blow a meal I know it doesn't mean the day is shot. If I blow a day I know it doesn't mean just start over next Monday.

I am motivated by the fact that it only takes a minute to change something and all of those minutes, when you put them all together can be big. It's true. Living a healthy lifestyle really does yield immediate gratification and cause I'm single I am all about that. You just feel good and that is so highly motivating to me now after years of putting my feelings on the back burner in favor of everyone else's. It's my time and I am trying to take better care of me because I deserve it.

All of the lovely ladies I have met thru blogging are so inspirational to me. Not to mention supportive and positive!!! I seriously doubt I will ever be anyones #fitspo, I use the eff word way too much while working out ever to be posting videos on IG. How do they do it everyday??? Some days I just want to say STFU all you positive people and pour myself a big glass o wine. Maybe I can just be the one who says "hey I'm right there with you struggling errday, let's do this together" virtually!

So that's a little bit about my motivating factors. Oh... and I have this whole smokin hot cougar Mrs. Robinson thing goin on that I really want to make the most of for a few more years in case I decide to cough cough settle down again. Probably about the time the Gators win a National Championship. Bahahahahah... yeah, nahhhhh!

And here's a little peek at the journey Sparkly Tank took around my town in GA the other day before movin' on to her next stop with the fabulous Amy @ Getz Girl on Fire. Sparkly tank visited the courthouse and the first governor of GA, John Forsyth, City Hall where she adorned a statue of a cute little girl for a  brief moment, and hung out at a really cool old barn right around the corner from me that was built in 1850. And she ended up tippin back a Miller Lite tall boy with me on the deck.

Hope you enjoyed the ride and follow along on her travels around the country for the next few months!
