18 Days of Whole 30 & Weekending Like A Boss

Monday, January 19, 2015

Heyooo... not a super exciting weekend up in these parts and we are actually still weekending cause MLK and all that. Kids are home today and we are just hanging out for the most part. Some one gave us a set of bunk beds so the project for today is to get them assembled in the little girls room. She is excited, me not so much as it looks like an exercise in frustration. It's half assembled now and we had to call in the reinforcements for help...aka man friends with tools.

Was a beautiful weekend in GA. Sunny and cool but not too cold. Perfect for tennis and just playing outside which we did. I failed on my fitness goals last week and I am not really sure why. I'll say that it was because every day it rained and I couldn't get outside to exercise but that is a sad sad excuse. I did run my ass off on the tennis courts yesterday and I have to say I felt great.

I am 18 days into my Whole 30 and my 30 Day Detox and the amount of energy I have from where I was 2 weeks ago on the court is pretty amazing. I normally don't run to retrieve stray balls but yesterday I caught myself doing that just to keep the pace of the game up and stay moving since it was a little windy and cold. Now this may not seem remarkable but when I say I don't run I mean it. I will run to get to a shot but chase a ball down? No. I think subconsciously I am just feeling stronger and it is awesome! The hardest thing about my tennis matches now is avoiding the lunch spread and the beer cooler. Yesterday I packed water, Larabars, almonds and coconut and steered clear of everything else. And I won my match 6-4, 6-2...Victory all around.

As usual my weekend involved cooking delicious healthy food. My life seems to revolve around food these days but in the best possible way. I am not hungry all the time like before but I am always thinking about my next meal if that makes sense. Planning really is the key to success here at least for me. Saturday night we made a Costco run and while the kids came home an ate chips, queso and wings I was chowing down on raspberries and Brad's Organic Almond Butter, which has become my new drug. Still drinking my Teami Blends skinny tea every day and definitely feeling like my jeans are looser and 2 people have even told me I look thinner. That makes me sooo happy. I can see in my face 1000% less bloat. My under eye bags are gone people!!! If anyone is interested in trying it out check it out here and use discount code AMY10 at check out and receive 10% off your order and free shipping! I am seriously considering doing another detox back to back with this one I am loving it so much!

Honestly, I have not felt this good in a very long time! Wish me luck with the bunk beds!
