Weekending In the Spring

Monday, March 9, 2015

Good morning friends and lovers! I had a pretty terrific weekend even though I lost a precious hour of time which I seriously hate! The weather here in Atlanta was absolutely perfect and I took full advantage of it. Friday night was a bit chilly so staying in was in order for me. My kids shipped off to Dad's and I cozied up on the couch with Winston for wine and Netflix. More HOC was in order and much enjoyed. No I am not done yet because I am trying to savor every last episode. That and I am trying to limit my TV watching in favor of reading or sketching or something even more productive like sleeping. I am being pretty good about that too and not letting it suck endless hours out of my life which is easy to do given my current life status.

Speaking of life status I also decided to maybe sorta try a little spring time online dating for shits and giggles. And also because I was a bit bored on Friday night and it's been awhile. Guess what? The same old fish are still in the pond and they ain't lookin any better than they did the last time. But I might stick to fishing for a few weeks and see what turns up. Might make for a good post or two anyway. I have already been solicited for a picture of my feet after just 2 messages from one guy. He got blocked. Creep.

Saturday Winston and I spent the day in midtown with one of my best pals and her son for some fun at Piedmont Park which is like the Atlanta equivalent to Central Park I guess. There are walking/bike paths, a dog park, a lake, a huge green space and lots of awesome locals and people watching.

There are also lots of restaurants around the perimeter that are perfect for taking in the spring air on the deck and having drinks which is exactly what we did. Even the dog got to go out for lunch! We enjoyed some delicious Mexican and sangria at Zocalo and it did not disappoint! We also discovered that they have a bottomless margarita Sunday brunch for $24... I'll be back.

We walked off our lunch and enjoyed a little more park time and even had a sighting of Atlanta legend Baton Bob decked out for St. Pattys Day. The rest of Saturday was a little shopping, running around followed by being really lazy at home cause out all day means permission to spend another night on the couch with a Liquid Bliss Chocolate Peanut Butter Porter from Terrapin Beer Co. Yummmm!

My daughter took me to breakfast on Sunday and we thoroughly enjoyed us some Waffle House. I did splurge by having cheese on my omelette but I did not eat the toast and refrained form ordering my beloved cheddar jalapeno biscuit. I didn't really even miss it. I did miss ketchup on my hashbrowns but... small sacrifices!  Sunday was equally gorgeous and I played tennis horribly and got smoked but I had a new $14 skirt so at least I looked cute, huh?

Linking up with the beautiful Biana cause it's a good thing to do on a Monday! Off to yet another recruiter interview I go! Maybe this one sticks! Happy Monday to all!!!
