Weekending

Monday, March 16, 2015

Well I was kind of a bad blogger this weekend because I was a little busy living life.  I did have a lot fun but I fell short in the picture taking arena cause... living! In certain groups it just doesn't feel normal to whip out the phone and photograph every damn thing for the sake of the blog. Not everyone gets it!

My Friday nights with kids now consist of being available to shuttle my teenager back and forth to her job. This is not my idea of a good time because A. I can't really go anywhere and B. Can't be drinkin some wine until we are all settled in for the night.  But I am trying to be supportive of her efforts so it is a really small sacrifice. Did I mention how proud I am of her?? She started Drivers Ed on Saturday (more shuttling) so after this past weekend, next weekend and 6 hours of behind the wheel training she will have her license. And then start asking me to borrow my car... ugh

Saturday I hooked up with my ex-sister-in-law and ex-mother-in-law for some drinks and food and a little time to catch up. Apparently they miss me and don't much care for the "new girl". So although it was not my ideal way to spend my Saturday I went. It's weird when people are in your life for 20 years and then comes a divorce and they just aren't anymore. But then you go and remember why they aren't anymore. My ex's whole family is just exhausting to me ... We ended up back at Sip where I was just a few days ago for lunch. We had a few snacks and some wine and it was nice enough... I did my duty for awhile. And drank too much wine.

Sunday was an absolutely amazing day here weather wise, 75 and not a cloud in the sky,  and I took full advantage of it. Played tennis, won and got a little sun on my pale white girl limbs. I also wore tennis clothes that I haven't put on in awhile because they were too tight and now they are loose! Loose!!! Another bonus of life long weight struggles is always a wide variety of sizes in the closet. This means although I want to buy new clothes I do not have to. I can just go back to shopping in the skinny-er side of my closet. Sunday night the kids and I grilled burgers and watched the Walking Dead. I will not spoil it but it was a tough episode to watch.

Based on this post it looks like all I did this weekend was eat and drink, which is partially true but isn't that what weekends are for? It's supposed to be 80 here today. I need to get to my shred on and not sure what else today. Job hunting I guess. Oh joy... Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Linking up with Biana!

  2. I feel the same way about picture-taking. My husband is the biggest critic. When I get my phone out to photograph my meal he is like WTF. Just eat. He is mostly supportive of my blog but photos are not his fave. Anyway, good for your daughter getting a job! That is awesome! I am currently on the other side of the divorce separation. My BIL is divorced and even though I was always pretty friendly with his ex-wife it is like all of a sudden I am not supposed to talk to her anymore. No one has specifically told me that - it just feels like it. Such a weird situation.

  5. i think that every kid should have a job and should at least work in the retail and/or service industry. that's when you truly know how 1) how hard it is to make a dollar 2) how hard those industries can be and 3) not to treat people like shit!! good for your daughter for getting a job :)

  6. I took pretty much zero pictures this weekend too. But then I also wasn't doing anything exciting or going anywhere, so that's my excuse. Not "living" just sitting really. Oh well! I can't imagine hanging with the ex's family, glad you survived that and had a good weekend!

  7. So cool that your daughter has a job. Go her! Also hanging with your ex's fam I could totally imagine would be exhausting. At least you got wine out of it. PS you look great!
