Easter Weekending

Monday, April 6, 2015

And an ugly one at that. On the plus side we had a gorgeous weekend in Atlanta and I was lucky enough to be out in it having some fun! Friday night was kicked off with wine on the deck at a friends house, always a nice way to ring in a Friday night. Saturday my oldest was here so of course we had to go to breakfast as has become our custom when it's just her and I here. Waffle house on deck for some fat food. I ate half a biscuit and had my hash browns smothered and covered (w/cheese for you non-waffle house people) which I consider a fail. Takeaway... the cheese was worth it, the biscuit was not. Didn't taste as good as I remembered.

Saturday afternoon I went to the Taste of Forsyth here in my town with a couple of girlfriends... a tasting event for local restaurants at the fairgrounds. Unfortunately us girls wolfed down most of the bites before I could photograph them but we did slow down for dessert which was my fave... Linzer Torte from The Gasthaus a local German place. And a home made peppermint patty form a gal selling candies and treats... deelish.

I also snuck out for nachos and beer and  a little Final Four action late Saturday. I figured might as well completely blow out the day food wise. If you live in Atlanta you know Taco Mac is just the place to do it and the Nachos all the Way never disappoint. Although Michigan State sucked it up the beer and nachos were great! No ragrets.

Easter was low key as I had no plans to go anywhere and no kids to celebrate with. Didn't hate it.... Friends stopped by for bloody's and a snack early in the day. I got to try out the Creamy Feta Dip recipe I mentioned here and it was freaking amazing! I used jalapenos from the jar but other than that followed the recipe to the letter. You must try this for your next  gathering or just to make. The combo of lemon and feta with the roasted garlic is just so bright and fresh, very summery... thumbs up on this one. And it took just a few minutes to throw together.

Winston and I took a late trip to the dog park on Sunday and other than that the weekend was a wrap. I also ate one Cadbury Egg and one Reese's Egg  and that was my plan so no guilt and dammit they were just as amazing as I was hoping they would be!

How was your Easter weekend?

  1. I love all your pics (even though they are making me so hungry and I am on a total guilt diet due to all the Cadbury Eggs I shoved into my pie hole this weekend).
