Another Friday is here and this one marks the end of the month and Day 29 of my Whole30 journey. I have been thinking (just a little) about the things I may be indulging in very soon. And when I say a little I mean my mind is spinning with the thoughts of a select few that I have really missed. Not naming any names though.

But first up it is time for favorites with with Miss Amanda because it is Friday and that is just what we do here.

Since I am all about it right now here is another interesting read on diet and exercise as it relates to overall good health. It pretty much debunks a lot of conventional wisdom about what kind of exercise we should be doing and foods we should be eating. It is in line with the Paleo school of thought. A good easy read if you like this sort of thing and are interested in improving your health and losing weight. This guy is 60 and in the best shape of his life with the blood panels to prove it. This Sunday is February 1st and if you hadn't noticed the stores are jam freaking packed with V-Day crap. There are two holidays that I really don't like;  A. New Year's Eve and B. Valentine's Day. I don't like either of them because they are overly couple-y and filled with pressure to create enormous amounts of fun and/or super romantic experiences and  thoughtful gifts. But they do come up once a year and I we all have to suffer through.

As a single person I really feel like I get left out of Valentine's Day. I mean my Mom might still send me a card but that's about it. L-O-S-E-R. My kids might get me something if they have the opportunity which is not likely unless I take them shopping not so that's out. I am sure I will get one or two a boatload of texts from various and sundry guy friends who are also single which will be nice. But, on the off chance that anyone wants to buy me a gift, or someone like me, I thought I would suggest a few fun things. Items that really capture the spirit of the holiday for the single person like myself.

Who doesn't love a nice coffee mug? This one is a steal for $13.93 and you can order it here on Etsy. I used to talk about my ex-husbands stupid face under my breath all the time when we were married but I never thought about actually just putting it out there you know? Don't hide your feelings!!! It's Valentine's Day! I'd feel pretty darn special if I received this one. For realz.

I Love Your Stupid Face. Funny Valentines Gift, Boyfriend Valentines Present, 11 oz Mug, Typography Mug, Gift for Boyfriend or Girlfriend

Nothing says Valentine's Day like a desperate plea for companionship so why not go the other route? A Conversation heart sweatshirt that sums up my thoughts perfectly. Leave Me Alone. No really... Alone in my hermitdom to to drink wine and eat pizza. Because pizza is eternal and it's around all year not just the one stupid day. Also available on Etsy.
Valentines Day Shirts Leave Me Alone Sweatshirt #ValentinesDay I Love You Shirts Cute Shirts Funny Gifts Valentines Day Gift Special Gifts
Luxury bath products are always very nice and thoughtful so I give you Dope On A Rope. Especially for me because I will need to work up a nice appetite before I order my pizza. I can take a hot bath, get clean and get the munchies all at the same time. When the pizza man gets a whiff of me he just might wanna come in though so who knows, this might actually help me get lucky on V-Day.

Dope on a Rope Soap - Northern Lights - Hemp Soap - Eucalyptus Peppermint Oil - Marijuana Cannabis Pot Gifts - Valentines Day - Birthdays

Now I am certainly not saying that I am a MILF... God no.. but if I was this is the flask I would want to be packin in my bra, or something. It even comes with a cute little funnel and 4 shot cups so all of my slutty MILF friends can join me in the ladies room at the club for a quick shot of Fireball before we can get back to MILFing it up should we decide to go out on V-Day.  Please include the Fireball too.

Valentines Day Gift, MILF, Valentines Gift, Mothers Day Gift, Cowgirl, Cowgirl Birthday, Pink Flask, Mom Gift, New Mom Gift, Funny Gift,

And lastly if you don't want to buy anything but you are a crafty baker type you really can't go wrong with conversation heart cookies. Who doesn't love homemade beautifully decorated cookies? After all that pizza and wine and Fireball I will want something sweet yet not overly sentimental. These are perfect. I especially like the "Eat Shit" and "Fuck Love" designs but they are all pretty darn clever really. Good job to whomever came up with this one. I for one would be thrilled!

Just a few little fun ideas for you cause...

Bitter... party of one, your table is now available:)

Time for a little confessing cause it's Wednesday and all. So here goes nothing, totally random confessions actually...

Does anyone else get irrationally excited when they see their food coming in a restaurant? I love when you get that feeling about a person.

Speaking of food anticipation, did I mention that in addition to actually leaving  my home this weekend I am going to go eat out. Like actual food in a actual restaurant. Yes, it's Wednesday and I am already thinking about the possible things I can eat at The Vortex (home of Atlanta's best burger) on Saturday. That right there is the Triple Coronary Bypass and I won't be eating it but I would have one if I saw it coming at me. Yes, that is a triple bacon cheeseburger with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches as the bun. And fried eggs. And fries with their signature "cheesy goo". And then you die.

Facebook can go suck itself. I tried to run a little $5 add for my pretty much non-existent blog FB page cause I was curious. I guess I swear too much because it was rejected 3 times because apparently I violate FB rules in that I use language that is insulting, harassing or threatening to people. So fucking sensitive... sheesh.

I am dying to get on the scale. Literally I want to weigh myself so badly because like everyone trying to lose a few pounds I secretly think I didn't actually lose any. Seriously that has happened before. Not this time though. Even my bras are looser. Yippee!!!

Speaking of fat I am really digging this show... My Big Fat Fabulous Life on TLC. I am not sure how I feel about how "ok" she is with her fatness but she is super funny and self deprecating and from the south. I am a sucker for reality shows that are about real relatable folks like all of us. But it's a reverse transformation and that makes me uncomfortable. She is trying to lose weight but on last night's episode she was about to make a banana and mayonnaise sandwich until her Dad stopped her. She said this is what we do in the south... ummmm... no, no we don't. Blech.... but still a cute show.

Single tickets go on sale today for the Shaky Boots Festival in Atlanta this coming May. Decisions, decisions about which day to go. But I am going. All day country music festival and guys in trucks. Sign me up. I can only pick one day though ugh... but both look pretty awesome. That will be my official  summer concert series kick off. Please weigh in...

I need two new tires on my truck and I am dreading laying out that cash but I am doing it before Friday. Why are tires so freaking expensive? I really did take for granted the fact that my ex always handled all of the car stuff. I really hate it. Maybe I should call him and thank him. Bahahahahaha... I'd rather bang all the greasy mechanics at the discount tire shop. True confession.

What ya got... tell me something!

We are almost at the end of the first month of the year. 2015 and one month down. Saturday is the last day of this first month of the new year. If you made any, did you stick to your resolutions? Mine, first and foremost, was to stick to my Whole30 and Teami 30 Day Detox and not cheat.  This coming Saturday will be my 30th day and I will be done. Done-zo. With the first 30 days anyway. So now comes the part that may actually be just as hard and I have to confess I am a little scared. I am scared of what comes next and can I do that thing that I have never really been able to do before.  Time to re-introduce some of the foods that I have cut out for the last 30 days. Yikes... cheese and bread and wine... oh Lawd! It's like all those times that I quit smoking and said I'll just have one or two if I'm out drinking. Welp... that never worked so we shall see how this compares.

I actually have been thinking about making my Whole30 a Whole60, 90 or 120 because I feel so good but I don't think the reality of not having something off plan for that amount of time is likely  possible for me to achieve. And it kind of defeats the purpose of conquering that fear and mastering a new relationship with food. But honestly, I am afraid that once I have that first bite of something that I will slip back to old habits, habits of a lifetime of bad food relationships and over indulging.

So in an effort to be proactive,  I am already planning my Superbowl Sunday party food and craft beer selection. Yes, I am going to start with alcohol as my cheat!!! Not planning on diving into the wings, seven layer dip and bud light on ice at the party. More like crudite and some yummy home made guac with one big badass Voodoo Doughnut Pretzel, Raspberry Chocolate Ale. Yes, it is  a real thing that I have been dying to try so this is my treat. And the bottle is pink, how cute is that?

I guess the point is that I feel like I have worked so hard this month and I am not really ready to be done. I have no idea how much weight I lost because I stuck to the rules on that one too and have not hopped on the scale. I will on Sunday though. And I know I have lost, I can feel it. I have a way to go though to really be where I want to be so this weekend will not mark the end for me. Just gonna keep on plugging along and learning how to manage the 5-10% (ideally) of the time where I might want to indulge in something maybe not so healthy.

I am planning a big post next week to review the Whole30 experience along with  my 30 Day Detox from TeamiBlends which has also been awesome! If you are interested in that you can still use discount code AMY10 for 10% off your order and free shipping.

On a side note, I made a super delicious pot of soup last night from a recipe that Kerry @ Till Then Smile Often posted last week. Find her recipe here. I tweaked it just a bit because I found andouille sausage on sale but here is what it looked like. Completely clean and Paleo if that's your jam! Perfect for a cold winter night and a quick throw together too!

Are you snowed in today? Make soup and enjoy it!

It's Monday...

Well here we are again on a bright and shiny Monday morning. I had a pretty decent weekend. Quiet again as most have been. I did the hermit thing for the most part which just makes it easier to stay on track with my Whole30/30 Day Detox bidness. All is going well on that front. I currently have exactly 6 days until I complete my challenge. That's it. Saturday will be my last day and I am not sure how I feel about it. Lots of things that I think I will save to talk about tomorrow cause I don't want to bore you on a Monday.

I was busy even though I was busy being a recluse until Sunday. I made it to the farmers market and I must say that Sprouts is my new favorite place. Here are a few things I picked up to try. Since I am not eating any sugar I am always looking for something to trick my mind into thinking it's getting some sort of sweet thing. Caramel cream coffee is doing the trick  with a little unsweetened vanilla almond milk form Califia Farms. It's not really sweet per Se but very satisfying and rich! I highly recommend! Date nut coconut rolls are sweet and definitely like natures candy. I love these things! 3 ingredients... almonds, dates and coconuts. I will say this again, when I see so few ingredients I have to refrain from showing my inner joy in public as I know I almost certainly can have it! And then I tried these Kombucha drinks from Synergy. I am a big Gatorade drinker when I play tennis and since I can't have it I bought these to try and replace that. I normally dilute my sports drinks with about half water so I did the same thing with this. Gotta be honest, when you open it it smells a little like piss. I mean it's fermented tea for God's sake... fermented shit smells weird. But it tastes pretty good cut with water. Not sure if I am interested in spending $2.99 a bottle for raw, organic, fermented tea but it was worth trying. It may just be an acquired taste. I think a little variety right now is really what I am craving most!

Saturday Night I cozied up on the couch to watch The Interview just released on Netflix. Y'all know how much I love James Franco and Seth Rogan and this was their classic schtick. It's not for everyone their weird brand of humor but I loved it. I would recommend if you are in the mood for something stupid funny and light. I love these two.

Unfortunately now I cannot stop quoting my favorite takeaways from the movie like...

And this...  #peanutbutterandjealous

And a cameo of one of my Detroit hometown favorites Mr. Marshall Mathers "outing" himself. I love it when a mega star can completely make fun of themselves.

Speaking of hometown favorites, Jude Angelini aka Rude Jude on Sirius Satellite Radio Shade 45 is going to be in town this weekend doing a book signing/reading at a local bar in Atlanta so I am taking a break from hermitdom to venture out and see him. If I can trick some friends into joining me. He wrote a crazy book last year called Hyena about his life and I am hooked. He grew up not far from me in Detroit and if you like autobiographical writing about sex, drugs and the human condition you might like it. He's pretty cute and he's single and he follows me on Instagram & Twitter so maybe we can grab a drink afterward. Hey Jude Hey!

In other news I rewrote my resume, lost my tennis match (but played well) and tried to hawk some more Girl Scout Cookies. Speaking of that... shameless plug time... if you need some Tagalongs or Thin Mints in your life (and delivered to your door) please feel free to visit my sweet girls cookie website and order here. You can also purchase cookies to send directly to our troops serving overseas which is a great way to give back to our service men and women and tax deductible!!! Isn't she cute?

Have a great week...
'Cause baby, you're a firework
Come on, show 'em what you're worth
Make 'em go, "Aah, aah, ahh"
As you shoot across the sky-y-y

Linking up with Biana as always!

Wow... How did we get here again?? This week just flew by didn't it? I had a decent week. Pretty uneventful and not huge plans for the weekend which is fine by me.

So once again it is time to link up with Miss Amanda for some of my favorite things and as usual I have too many so lets get to it!

INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS...

We all love a good deal and especially a store that offers good deals on millions of different things a la Target and Walmart. These two accounts search out the best of the best at each store so  we can go hunt them down or snag them online. They don't disappoint either. From yoga mats and fun prints to cookie jars and super cool sweatshirts, you name it they find it. I have had good luck with actually getting the stuf they post too. Being from Detroit I had to have that mens sweatshirt I saw last week and sure enough my Target had exactly one left... and it is now mine.

See... cute huh?

SONG...

I love me some Lee Brice and although I haven't been listening to a ton of country lately... I seem to much more so in the summertime is that weird?... I love this song...

BATH STUFF...

Lavender Epsom Salt - I was reminded of this the other day talking with Amanda about stress relief. I take baths when I am stressed. Bubble baths are great but my favorite thing is Lavender Epsom Salt. It smells sooooo good and something about that smell just relaxes you. Epsom salt has so many other health benefits too like soothing aching muscles, curing skin problems, healing cuts, alleviating cold & congestion and drawing toxins from the body. A wintertime bath before bed is the ultimate stress reliever and sleep well guarantee for me!

T-SHIRTS...

Buy Me Brunch is possibly my favorite place to order t-shirts from. Guess what they came out with this week... this one right here. I love tacos. I must have this. I know, they are a little pricey but they are super soft material and really nicely made. And if you follow them on Instagram they offer discount codes (usually 15% off) about every 3 weeks for one day only. You can stock up... a little. I actually started buying the guys shirts cause they are cheaper and I cut the neck & arm bands out (which I do with all my t's) and sort of DIY it into a chick shirt. Check pinterest for deets on this, there are a million ways to do it!

MY LOKAI....

This super zen new Lokai bracelet I got. It represents the highs and lows of life and the circular journey that is uniquely ours but that we are all on. Inside the black bead is mud from the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth. Inside the white bead is water from the top of Mt. Everest, the highest point on earth. The mantra is when you are on top stay humble and when you are low stay hopeful. We can all use a reminder of that I think.

FAVORITE PIN...

With the Superbowl just one week away I am already scouting Pinterest for memorable party food ideas to bring. Found this and thought it looked super fun and kid friendly. I love the sweet salty combo and who doesn't love anything on a Ritz? I might even eat one since I will be officially past my 30 day mark! Maybe... for the recipe click here.

RITZ cracker No-Melt Ice Cream is a must-have dessert on game day. Mix cream cheese and marshmallow creme until blended. Gently stir in whipped topping and chopped crackers. Scoop onto parchment-covered baking sheet, add sprinkles, and freeze until firm. Place on top of a RITZ cracker for a simple #TeamSweet snack!

And of course it wouldn't be Friday without some funny stuff to laugh at....
